Cheshire County and Super League

Code of Conduct 2023-2024

 

Code of Conduct for the Cheshire Darts Organisation and any associated events organised by the Cheshire Darts Organisation.

Players who register with the Cheshire Darts Super League, or players who are members of the County Darts teams are subject to its Code of Conduct and should be mindful that an infringement of this Code of Conduct could result in a lifetime ban from the Cheshire Darts Organisation, Cheshire Darts Super League and reported to the United Kingdom Darts Association (UKDA) subject to a majority vote by the Management Committee.

 

It is not possible to draw up an exhaustive list of types of conduct, behaviour, statements or practices that may amount to a Disciplinary Offence under this Code. For purposes of illustration only, and not by way of limitation, each of the following types of behaviour may constitute a Disciplinary Offence under this Code:

 

1. No player shall subject another player to verbal abuse before the commencement of a game, during a game or after a game on that same day or evening.

 

2. No player shall use foul or abusive language before, during or after a game on the same day or evening.

 

3. Any player who verbally abuses another player or official outside a normal league or county event in relation to an incident which took place at a league or county event (this to include league match, county match, individual match, pairs match or team competition) can be reported to the committee, who can request that player to explain matters relating to the abuse, to a disciplinary committee and may be subject to a ban.

 

4. Any player who threatens physical violence to another player, be it an opponent or a player from his or her own team, will be deemed to be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be summoned to a disciplinary hearing before the Cheshire Darts Organisation Committee and could be banned for life (sine die).

 

5. Any player who threatens physical violence to a spectator, darts official, licensee, employee of the licensee, hotelier or hotel staff will be deemed to be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be summoned to a disciplinary hearing before the Cheshire Darts Organisation Committee and could be banned for life (sine die).

 

6. Any player who strikes another player in a malicious manner with any part of his/her body or with any instrument or missile will be deemed to be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be summoned to a disciplinary hearing before the Cheshire Darts Organisation Committee and could be banned for life (sine die).

 

7. Any player who strikes a spectator, darts official, licensee, employee of the licensee, hotelier or hotel staff in a malicious manner with any part of his/her body or with any instrument or missile will be deemed to be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be summoned to a disciplinary hearing before the Cheshire Darts Organisation Committee and could be banned for life (sine die).

 

8. Any player who uses foul or abusive language to an employee of a hotel or place of accommodation in relation to a county match will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

9. Any player who uses foul or abusive language to any person either driving or assisting the driver of any transport associated with any county event will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and subject to disciplinary action.

 

10. Any player who uses foul or abusive language or acts in an aggressive manner to any committee member or official of either team involved in any county event will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

11. Any player/players who use foul or abusive language during or on completion of a game or series of games by way of singing or shouting at a county venue will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

12. Any player/players who bring any alcoholic beverages to a county venue without the specific permission of the committee will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and subject to disciplinary action.

 

13. All players must ensure that all monies owing to either County or Super League must be paid on time. Failure to do so puts that individual or team in breach of the Code of Conduct and could lead to a fine or a ban.

 

14. Any player/players who use up sporting, indecent, violent, insulting or other act that may bring into disrepute the sport of darts at Super League/County Venues will be in breach of the Code of Conduct and will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

15. Any  acts/omissions that breach the UKDA Playing Rules, the Eligibility Rule, the Policy on Drugs or any other UKDA rule and includes the rules specific to any particular UKDA Event.

16. Whilst Cheshire darts uses a code of conduct, adherence must also be given to the governing bodies own code of conduct to conform with membership within that body. The UKDA code of conduct is contained within the link.
